Michael Schafer is the owner/executive chef of Sydney's Fine Dining Restaurant at The Forks. A restaurant he created and designed with his own artistic talents. Michael has successfully introduced the table d'hôte dining experience to the city of Winnipeg. There were more than a few skeptics with regard to his concept of a table d'hôte menu, however after three & a half years and forty monthly menus later, his skeptics are no longer doubters. Michaels' restaurant was recognized by WHERE Canada as One of the top 10 new Restaurants in Canada in 2004. Sydney's has also landed itself in Anne Hardy's "Where to eat in Canada" seven years in a row since the day Michael opened his doors. Each year Sydney's has been honored with a star of excellence, one of 130 restaurants to receive this recognition in Canada.
